N-[4-Cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-methacrylamide is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H10F3N3O and a relative molecular mass of 287.23.

Properties of the compound:
-Appearance: Colorless to light yellow crystal or solid powder
-melting point: about 136-140 ℃
-Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents such as methanol, acetone and dimethyl sulfoxide
-Stability: relatively stable to light and heat, not easy to decompose under most conditions

Main uses of the compound:
-Special materials: can be used to synthesize high molecular polymers, such as polyacrylamide and polymer slurry synthesis and modification
-Chemical research: local transition metal compounds as non-metallic catalysts and catalysts for catalytic reactions

Preparation of the compound:
1. First, dehydrate p-cyanobenzoic acid to obtain methylene benzidine.
2. methylene benzidine and 3-bromo -4-cyanobenzoic acid are reacted according to a certain molar ratio, and N-[4-Cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-methylacramide is generated through SNAr reaction under alkaline conditions.
